If the ingredients label lists partially hydrogenated or hydrogenated oils, then there is some artificial trans-fat in the product. It might not be listed on the nutrition facts, because manufacturers are merely required to list it if a serving contains a half gram or more.

Saturated fats are bad for the health of our arteries, too. Polyunsaturated fatty acids, on the other hand, are necessary for good health. The omega-3 fatty acids are particularly beneficial. For making healthy choices, researchers suggest consuming a balanced amount of omega-6 and omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids every day. In order to do that, the best cooking oils to choose are canola and olive. Fatty fish are richer in omega-3s than other meats. Walnuts and pecans are better fat sources than peanuts or cashews, which contain no omega-3s.
